Description:
The ‘Bedford-Union Armory: A neighborhood case study’ is intended to complement the vision of an ongoing large-scale project located in the Crown Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. The project was completed under the supervision of Planner / Architect Pablo Vengoechea, and the client was BFC Partner and Slate.
Tasks Completed::

Proposed zoning changes by analyzing local context and available neighborhood resources.

Investigated up zonings that trigger Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH) regulations to add and preserve affordable housing within the neighborhood.

Provided recommendations for streetscape improvement, pedestrian safety and traffic calming strategies

Provided 3D rendering and graphic design support in SketchUp and Adobe Photoshop for final presentation report.
