BEDFORD UNION ARMORY

Description:

The ‘Bedford-Union Armory: A neighborhood case study’ is intended to complement the vision of an ongoing large-scale project located in the Crown Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. The project was completed under the supervision of Planner / Architect Pablo Vengoechea, and the client was BFC Partner and Slate.

 

Tasks Completed::

  • ​​Proposed zoning changes by analyzing local context and available neighborhood resources.

  • Investigated up zonings that trigger Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH) regulations to add and preserve affordable housing within the neighborhood.

  • Provided recommendations for streetscape improvement, pedestrian safety and traffic calming strategies

 

  • Provided 3D rendering and graphic design support in SketchUp and Adobe Photoshop for final presentation report.
